"Les Jeux de Maux" program
Period: January to April 2024
Country: France (Paris)
Topics covered: chronic pain, anger, difference
Beneficiaries: 24 direct beneficiaries and 50 indirect beneficiaries
Why: Although the links between chronic pain and emotional and psychosocial factors are well-documented, patients and their families often struggle to recognize them spontaneously.
This observation highlights the need for patient and in-depth support to enable individuals to share their difficulties, unveil their secrets and traumas, and find ways to express themselves to replace pain with words.
Partner institutions: 2 structures: Armand Trousseau Hospital and the Lutter contre la douleur (LCD) network
Number of Propolis workshops conducted: 12 (total of 36 hours)
Methods: learning storytelling and creative movement, combining dance, theater, drawing, and painting.
Storytelling: "Storytelling" (or narrative tool) is a method that uses stories, tales, personal narratives, and other forms of storytelling to help individuals explore and understand their own experiences, emotions, and challenges.
This approach recognizes the power of narratives to influence self-perception and the world, as well as to foster change. It allows participants to step back from their own challenges and discover new perspectives."
